Mazda MX5 NC 1.8 or 2.0 Performance Intake Manifold

Aluminium large plenum intake manifold for the NC MX5.

This manifold replaces the original intake manifold on either the 1.8 or the 2.0 version of the MX5. It is an ideal upgrade for any boosted car to prevent the original plastic manifold from splitting. It will increase the power output and improve the sound and drivability of the car.

The original manifold is a compromised design which incorporates flaps inside that actuate to give both long runners and short runners. A longer runner is desired at lower RPM to increase low end torque something which is useful when driving around town, our manifold does away with this feature and optomizes higher RPMs while maintaining acceptable lower end power and torque.

The original swirl flaps are also replaced when fitting this manifold which increases the air velocity going into the cylinder head.

The manifold bolts directly to the OE head and can be used with the original throttle body and map sensor. There are 3 ports that can be used for the brake booster and any other features/sensors which need the vacuum from the manifold.

Included with the manifold are the required bolts and gaskets for installation.

Map sensor shown in pictures is not included, reuse the map sensor found on the OE manifold. The original fuel rail can be used with this manifold.

Clearance to the bulkhead is tight and it is advised that a small modification to the bulkhead will be required when fitting. The throttle body will not be in exactly the same location as it was before therefore an adaptation to your intake system might be required.
